Reorders

At Merchy’s, we make it easy for you to place reorders of your custom apparel—whether you want the same design, garment style, and decoration (screen printing, embroidery, etc.). We store your artwork files securely, simplify repeat orders, and make sure pricing and turnaround are clear. This article explains how reorders work, what to expect, and how to get the best results.

Why Reorders Matter

  • Consistency: Reorders let you get the exact look as your first order—same colors, same placement, same style—helping your brand stay consistent.

  • Efficiency: We already have the artwork files, setup details, and garment specs, so we can reduce production steps.

  • Cost Savings: Because setup and design work are already done, reorders often cost less per item or avoid setup fees you paid the first time.

How Merchy’s Handles Reorders

Artwork File Storage

We retain your approved artwork files and design specifications once an order is completed:

  • Artwork, including vector files or high-resolution raster files, is stored in our system.

  • Decoration details (type of screen printing, embroidery digitizing, color separations, stitch counts, etc.) are also saved.

  • Garment details (style, make/model, color, size breakdown) from your original order are kept where possible.

This ensures your reorder uses the same assets, minimizing errors and setup time.

Reorder Process: Simple Steps

Here’s how you place a reorder with Merchy’s:

  1. Log in to your account and locate your previous order.

  2. Select the order you want to repeat and click “Reorder.”

  3. Confirm or update the quantity, sizes, and any garment changes (if you want the same style or a different style).

  4. Review the proof (if needed) to make sure everything looks right—job settings, colors, decoration method.

  5. Approve the order and proceed to checkout.

If there are changes (new garment color, updated design, or you need a different decoration method), we’ll generate a proof and possibly re-calculate certain costs (like setup or file edit time).

Pricing for Reorders

When you place a reorder:

  • Setup & artwork fees: Because we already have your approved design and setup, many of the setup/artwork prep costs are usually waived or significantly reduced.

  • Volume pricing: Your price per item may be equal or better depending on quantity. If you order more than your original amount, you may hit better per-piece pricing.

  • Garment or material changes: If you change garment style, fabric, or decoration method (e.g., switching from embroidery to screen printing), there may be additional charges.

  • Special requests or modifications: If you request edits to the artwork (resize, color change, add/subtract elements), there may be a small artwork revision fee.

Turnaround Time for Reorders

Because reorders reuse much of the groundwork, turnaround is usually faster. But several factors affect how quickly we can deliver:

Factor

What Influences It

Garment availability

If we have your original garment in stock, production is quicker. If not, sourcing new blanks may add time.

Decoration method

Screen printing and embroidery may need different setup. Embroidery digitizing was done already, so that helps; screen printing screens, etc., might still need prep if design colors or layout change.

Quantity

Larger orders take longer to produce.

Artwork readiness

If we need a new proof (for changes), that adds time. If everything is ready, the process moves faster.

Typical turnaround for reorders (with no changes) is shorter than first-time orders, provided all assets and garments are available.

What Customers Should Know

  • Best to reorder “as-is”: To get the fastest turnaround and lowest cost, keep design, garment, colors, and decoration the same. Any change may trigger a new proof or setup work.

  • Act early for high demand items: If the garment you used originally was limited-run or seasonal, stock may have changed. Ordering early helps ensure we have what you need.

  • Check size breakdowns again: If your audience has changed (staff sizes, event needs, absorption of wear or shrinkage), double-check sizes to avoid waste.

  • Budget for shipping and handling: Even with an efficient reorder process, shipping still applies, and rush orders cost more.

  • Use “reorder discount” or loyalty perks: We may have discounts or special pricing for repeat customers—ask about them or see promotions when you log in.

FAQs

Q: Will my reorder cost the same as my first order?
A: Often, it will be lower because setup/artwork fees are reduced or waived. However, if you change any key element (garment style, color, decoration, size breakdown), those changes may cause a different cost.

Q: Can I change something (e.g. garment color or logo size) during a reorder?
A: Yes—but changes may require a new proof and may add some time and cost (artwork revisions, new setup, possible new decoration method). If the changes are minor and garment is already in stock, the impact will be smaller.

Q: How much faster is the turnaround on a reorder?
A: Much faster in many cases, especially if using the same design, garment, decoration method, and if garment is in stock. That said, the exact speed depends on quantity, stock, and current order queue.

Q: What happens if the garment I ordered before is no longer available?
A: We’ll let you know and offer comparable alternatives. Substitutions may affect color match, pricing, and sometimes design placement (depending on seam locations, etc.).

Q: Do you store my artwork securely and indefinitely for reorders?
A: Yes. At Merchy’s we store your approved design files and decoration details securely. As long as you are a customer, you can rely on us to retain them for future reorders. If ever needed, you can request copies or check what we have on file.
